Yorkshire's best preserved Art Deco Merchant's MansionA stroll in the park

Bridlington is leading the renaissance of Yorkshire seaside resorts with a succession of ambitious regeneration plans. At the centre of the town is the bustling harbour with one of the UK’s largest fishing fleets, yacht marina and pleasure boats, crowned by the recently-restored Spa entertainment venue with its magnificent Art Deco Ballroom and Edwardian theatre. Improvements have been made to both the north and south promenades. Overlooked by the Art Deco Expanse Hotel, the north bay enjoys far-reaching views towards the chalk cliffs at Flamborough Head. Recently completed is the new multi-million pound Leisure Centre with its sports and exercise facilities and swimming pool. The south bay promenade has been subject to more comprehensive improvements with contemporary beach-huts and water features. The town centre is currently being redeveloped as part of the Bridlington Renaissance initiative.

Yorkshire's best preserved Art Deco Merchant's MansionSewerby Hall with its pleasure gardens, café and children’s zoo is just a short drive away from Cragg Hill. The original interiors of the hall have recently been restored with items on loan from the V&A Museum so that visitors can experience life in an Edwardian country house. Also close by is the RSPB reserve at Bempton cliffs. The cliffs are a spectacular sight and accommodate thousands of nesting birds, including increasingly rare puffins which can be seen in April and May. The genteel Edwardian resort of Filey is 10 miles to the north; the Victorian spa town of Scarborough is 17 miles; and the fishing port of Whitby in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park is 36 miles distant.

Bridlington has two golf clubs: the Links to the north and Bridlington Golf Club to the south. Boats and jet skis can be launched from a dedicated, council-owned site to the south of Bridlington where there are also facilities for the secure, long-term dry-berthing of boats. One mile to the west of the town is the Woldgate Trekking Centre which caters for both experienced horse riders and novices

Bridlington has a railway station on the Hull to Scarborough line. York is 41 miles away by road and Hull 29 miles.
